Meet Emilee

Flowers are like storytellers to me - they quietly mark life's milestones, adding beauty to our most important memories.
When I was a little girl, I loved visiting my Nana. I was always excited to see what was growing when we went to visit her in Dallas. We had a ritual every night where I would pull out a stack of encyclopedias to look at the pictures with her; but during the day, our ritual was to walk around her garden. I would admire the flowers, and she would tell me all of their names, even if I already knew them.
Our yard at home was deeply shaded, so the opportunities to grow flowers were limited. Still, my love of growing things never faded. Over time, my upstairs windows slowly filled with (my mother's) houseplants that I had "rescued," creating my own little indoor garden.

Four years ago, I decided to DIY my own wedding flowers - a decision that completely changed my relationship with flowers and eventually led to Emilee Blooms (You can read more about that journey here). I found myself arranging flowers for friends & family, eager to sit down to "talk flowers," and realized this passion had become something much bigger.
Today I live in DFW with my husband, our 13 year old daughter, two dogs (a 70 lb coonhound convinced he's a lap dog and 20 lb poodle convince she's his supervisor), and two very bossy chickens. I've been an elementary teacher for twelve years, currently in a classroom that the rest of the school knows as "the room with all the plants."

I love getting to work with clients, from looking at their inspiration pictures, to designing their vision, to crafting and bringing the flowers of their dreams to life. It's an honor to create flowers for your milestones, and I am deeply grateful to be part of those memories.
